Music and I
To introduce myself, I would like
to mention that I come from the Magdalen Islands and that my ultimate goal is to go back there to live my life with my family. I moved when I was young and I always went to
school in Sainte-Thérèse. My elementary and secondary schools were both music schools where I not only learned French and
mathematics but also how to play violin. A lot of teenagers and young adults often insist on the fact that music is their
life, but in my case, I would have to admit that it’s true.
I learned how
to read music, play flute and percussions, play violin and right now, I’m learning piano. I also sing and play guitar
but that is just for fun. The best part of my school years was clearly to play in the orchestra. My teacher was absolutely
amazing and there was a team spirit that was so strong between all the musicians that it now makes me regret those days.
I
am now studying in Classical Music at Lionel-Groulx College and really like it. Already in my second year, my plans
for university are not clear yet. An Interpretation program in violin would interest me a lot but the places in that kind
of program are really hard to get. In addition, to accept or refuse you, they base themselves on a single audition. It makes
the stress factor go up! Another program makes me wonder about my future school year: musical Education. Being a violin teacher
is something that I would really like. I am already teaching violin to children that are getting started. I am playing my
instrument for 12 years now and it’s a passion.
